October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. And this is why we have chosen FRIENDS, INC., as our October Our Monthly Resolution organization.

Domestic violence is a crucial in our communities. In Wisconsin, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic violence at some point in their lives. These staggering statistics are a reminder of why providing resources to those who are affected by domestic abuse is so vital.

The mission of FRIENDS INC is to empower those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault by offering safety, support, and community awareness. They are dedicated to providing a safe haven and a voice for those who need it most.

Based in West Bend, WI, FRIENDS INC yearns to create a community where everyone feels safe, heard, and valued. They strive for a world where domestic violence, sexual assault, and any form of oppression are unequivocally rejected. All of their services are free. They offer a 24/7 crisis and help line, emergency short-term housing, advocacy services, resources for children, prevention education and support groups.

Our Monthly Resolution donations will be used to support their daily needs. Will you join us in helping FRIENDS INC build a more just and compassionate society?

Unfortunately, the statistics prove that there is so much more domestic violence that we are aware. Providing resources to organizations like FRIENDS INC allows people who have been taken advantage of opportunities to heal. Let’s help this healing process and support domestic violence in October.
