Psalm 142:5  – I cry to you, Lord, for help. “You are my refuge,” I say. “You are all I have in the land of the living.”

Gratitude Day 731

“The land keeps calling.”

This is the mantra of the organization we will be featuring during April as our chosen non-profit feature organization for Our Monthly Resolution as we feature Memory Lane Farm.

In 1908, the Wolf family farm began on its current location. Martin and Lucille Wolf operated the farm for many years, succeeding Martin’s parents and grandparents. A dairy operation for years, Martin and Lucille retired from dairy farming in 1995. For the next 18 years, they operated an ag tourism venue on their farm, which they retired from in 2013.

Martin felt the land kept calling and in 2017, he and his daughter, Beth, and her husband, Doug, established AgriVenture Farm Camp. During the weeklong summer camp, kids experience a hands-on, farm-based learning experience. Educational, emotional and restorative needs of the kids is considered. Memory Lane Farm also offers a 12-week mentoring program called Cultivating Hope that runs throughout the year. Here, kids or families experience being on the farm once a week. The focus is helping people who struggle with emotional issues. Participants interact with animals, nature walks and other activities.

Why was Memory Lane Farm chosen to be a part of Our Monthly Resolution? Several reasons. Their mission is to offer farm-based opportunities to people of all ages and enhance lives through learning, exploring and self-discovery. Personally, I grew up on a farm and I love it when a farm helps people discover ways to find their roots. Their purpose is to inspire, support and encourage individuals to explore the wonders of nature, agriculture and animals. We appreciate this is an organization that works with kids and adults. And it’s a small non-profit that is committed to the wonderful work that they do.

We are so impressed how the Wolf family continues to look for ways to serve those around them and use their land as a calling. We invite you to share in their work by supporting them as part of Our Monthly Resolution during April. Please share with them that your donation is part of our group.

For seeing the land as a calling from God, I am grateful.

Blessings –

Dianne

Lord God – Land can be used is so many ways. We celebrate the ways that Memory Lane Farm is using their farm and land for ministry and serving other people. May we encourage and support the work that they do. Amen.
