Gratitude Day 616

Romans 8:16 – For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”

Did you know that God sees you as a beloved child of God’s kingdom?

Yep, that’s right. You. Are. Beloved.

When 2021 began, my friend Stacie and I began an initiative we call Our Monthly Resolution. It’s a way that we ask people to come together and support one non-profit organization each month. It’s the beginning of April and time to announce our April organization:

GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau

I love what this group does. GiGi’s Playhouse celebrates the potential, ability and possibility of those with Down syndrome. Their mission is to educate, inspire, believe and share with the world how AWESOME Down syndrome is!

Did you get this? They think Down syndrome is AWESOME … and they celebrate it! I absolutely LOVE this!

Based in North Central Wisconsin, GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau has a facility that is almost 4,000 square feet where they offer a fun and purposeful learning space. The facility includes a Family Resource Area, Therapeutic Play Area, 3 Tutoring Labs and a Café’ G Kitchen along with specialty areas like a Sensory Room, Club GiGi Teen & Adult Area and a GiGiFIT Gym. They hope to have an outdoor play space and garden in the future.

When so many organizations were limited in what they could offer during the pandemic, GiGi’s offered virtual programs.

I also LOVE that Gigi’s offers all of their therapeutic and educational programs FOR FREE. They support people of all ages and work with families with a prenatal diagnosis through adult individuals with Down syndrome. Their programs focus on a variety of skills, including gross and fine motor skills, literacy and math skills, social skills, and confidence–all with the goal of helping individuals with Down syndrome become their best selves.

While they may describe their purpose a bit differently, it seems to me this organization is all about seeing and believing and living that EVERYONE is a beloved child of God’s kingdom.

Because of their unique and special programs for people who often are not resourced, we’re excited to support GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau as our April Our Monthly Resolution organization. We’d love for you to support them this month. There are many options:

Holy God – When You say that You love everyone, You mean it. Unfortunately, we often look for ways in how we are different and focus on this instead of how God loves us all.
