Gratitude Day 568
Ephesians 4:32 – But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.
It’s a great gift that you can give someone … and it doesn’t cost a dime.
It’s one of the most simply ways to make someone’s day … if you only choose to do so.
We’re taught it when we are young … now can we remember to live it as we age?
It’s really simple. Profound. Important.
It’s KINDNESS.
In the last year, it sometimes feels like we have forgotten how the small gift of kindness can make a huge difference. We’re so much more focused on who is right and who is wrong. What irritates us rather than where we see goodness. And this is why, my dear friends, I pray that we will each choose today and tomorrow and the next day to embrace kindness. Let’s choose to be kind when it might be easier to make a different choice.
Kindness can come in so many different ways:
A smile.
A hug (when it’s safe to hug).
A phone call.
A test message.
A card.
A “thank you.”
A random act of kindness.
A minute to go out of your way.
A question of concern.
A listening ear.
A non-roll of the eyes when this is what you want to do!
A tiny gift.
An hour of your time.
A choice to do the right thing.
A decision to stop doing and embrace being … if only for a short period of time.
We’re inundated with lots of ways to love right now. But honestly? I think kindness can make a huge difference.
Kindness can be extended to strangers.
People we don’t know.
People who don’t know us.
Folks who you may never see again.
Make the easy choice. Choose kindness. Today. Tomorrow. Every day.
When you want to … and when you don’t want to.
When you feel like it … and when you don’t.
When you know it’s the right thing … and you still don’t want to do it.
Let’s embrace kindness these days. And see what a difference it can make.
For the kindness others have extended to me, I am grateful.
Blessings –
Dianne
Holy God – We’re sorry that we’ve focused much more on how we are difference of late than how we can be kind to each other. May I be a kindness ambassador today. Tomorrow. Every day. Amen.
