Passport to Prayer – Lent 2016
Friday – Mar. 18, 2016
John 12:8: Jesus said, “You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.”
At a dinner party, Mary anoints Jesus feet. Unknowingly, she is preparing his body for burial. Judas can’t understand why Jesus allows this. What a waste of perfume! Catch the entire story in John 12:1-8.
The perfume’s aroma must have saturated the room where the party was held. What smells do you enjoy the most? If possible, sit with one of your favorite smells. Breathe it in slowly. As you breath out, thank Jesus for the times you were used for a special purpose, like Mary, and didn’t even realize it. Repeat this several times.
We fail to remember how your view of our lives is so different from our view. Yes, we have many choices to make. Yet, you are the master conductor in helping us fulfill a purpose for your kingdom. May what we do this day be a sweet aroma of your liking. Amen.
Blessings –
Dianne
