Passport to Prayer – Lent 2016
Thursday – Feb. 18, 2016
James 5:13-16: Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offering in faith will make them well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
What keeps you from praying? Seriously. Make a list, and if possible, do this with your family. Write a list of all the reasons. Then, tear the piece of paper up, symbolizing your desire to remove these barriers from prayer. Explore ways you can add even a few minutes of prayer to your day.
Sometimes we say we believe in the power of prayer. Now, encourage us to live like we believe in the power of prayer. May we see every prayer we lift up as important to you. Help us remove these prayer barriers during this season of Lent. Amen.
