Passport to Prayer – Lent 2016
Tuesday – Feb. 16, 2016
Psalm 46:10: Stand silent! Know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation in the world!”
Prayer is like riding a bike. What we learn from a book or class isn’t enough. Proficiency comes through practice. Prayer isn’t a performance. Sometimes, it’s best just to be still. Throughout Lent, trying setting a timer for a period of time that you will pray. Start with 3-5 minutes and try to increase each week. If quiet music will help you relax, play this in the background. Then, be quiet and rest in God’s presence.
Dear God – Sometimes prayer comes more natural than others. Other times, my prayer experience is dry and lifeless. May you meet me in the spaces between “dry and lifeless” and “wonderful?” I desire to have an authentic relationship with you. Thank you for loving me and I love in return. Amen.
Blessings –
Dianne
