Making wishes come true. That’s the mission of Thursday’s Child, our February Our Monthly Resolution organization.

A child’s dreams are endless. Thursday’s Child believes in the importance of dreams. Since 1984, Thursday’s Child works to help children who are seriously ill or young adults in southwest or south central Wisconsin make one of their dreams come true. Maybe it’s a family trip to Disney World. A computer to help with schoolwork. Meeting an inspiring celebrity or another dream.

Created and sustained by people interested in helping kids fulfill their dreams Thursday’s Child work with area pediatric specialists, social workers and members of the community as well as the children’s friends and families to make those dreams come true. Their dreams transport them to places with unlimited boundaries. They can drape themselves in an old blanket and become a super hero. Wear a badge and become a police officer. Fly down a snowy hill on a sled and become an Olympic champion.

Whatever the wish, Thursday’s Child’s® purpose is to make today better for children struggling to survive. While they face problems most adults need not cope with, they still are children. Children have dreams. Families face not only the reality of caring for a seriously ill child, but also a staggering amount of bills related to the child’s treatment. Thursday’s Child® is here to make a difference in the child’s life.
