John 6:5-6 – When Jesus looked out and saw that a large crowd had arrived, he said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread to feed these people?” He said this to stretch Philip’s faith. He already knew what he was going to do.
Food insecurity is real. People who don’t have enough food to eat on a regular basis.
PTSD and anxiety issues are also very real. These folks need a safe place to heal.
Enter CC Cattle Company. Based in Rio, WI, this non-profit organization embraces philanthropy farming: raising agricultural products to help feed the food insecure. CC Cattle Company raises cattle on pasture and donates beef to food pantries in Wisconsin.
In Wisconsin, there are 500,000 food insecure people. Of those, 180,000 are children. People who aren’t sure they will have enough food every day. CC Cattle Company is committed to providing high quality meat to help provide food security. Their goal is to provide 4,000 meals annually.
Along with raising beef, CC Cattle Company also has an equine therapy program that assists wounded veterans and first responders who struggle with PTSD.
CC Cattle Company’s founder, Sam, is a veteran and a first responder. He’s lived the untold and often unrecognized emotional trauma of these professions. Monthly, CC Cattle Company hosts a meal and a counseling session on the farm. The fresh air, the animals, the location all create a different environment from the standard meeting room setting.
We’ve selected CC Cattle Company as our November Our Monthly Resolution organization because of their commitment to feeding those who struggle with food insecurity as well as their desire to help heal first line responders and children. We love their commitment to these priorities and their unique and different approach to serving others. Please go to their website, https://www.cccattleco.org/, scroll down and watch the posted video to learn more about what they do. When Jesus talked about caring for other people, he understood the importance of caring for their basic needs: food and clothing. He also knew that caring for a person emotionally and mentally is also super important. CC Cattle Company does both.
Will you join us in supporting their wonderful mission during the month of November?

We’re excited to offer CC Cattle Company as a great organization to support this November. And I would love to have you participate in supporting them or another similar organization.
For the ability to serve those with food insecurity as well as emotional and mental needs, I am very grateful.

Holy God – May I fully appreciate all the blessings in my life today. And out of gratitude for all that I have, please place it in my heart how I might support those who do not have the same security that I do. Encourage me to offer support to those who struggle with food security and/or PTSD and anxiety. May I grasp this opportunity to fulfill your command to love my neighbors. Amen.
