Gratitude Day 867

1 Corinthians 9:24: Do you not know that all those who run in a race run, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain it.

Thank you. Thank you for following along with my little writings. Thank you for sharing with me. Thank you for showing up.

And thank you for supporting Our Monthly Resolution. Three years ago, my friend Stacie and I started a little group to support non-profit organizations. Organizations that we think do amazing things. That show up and help those who just need a little encouragement, a little push, the knowledge that someone sees them. Together, we’ve supported a variety of organizations and made a difference in people’s lives.

Today, I’m sharing our first Our Monthly resolution organization for 2024: Girls on the Run North Central Wisconsin. Here’s what they do:

Girls on the Run has fun, evidence-based programs that inspire all girls to build their confidence, kindness and decision making skills. Dynamic lessons instill valuable life skills including the important connection between physical and emotional health.

It may sound like just running, but Girls on the Run is so much more. It is amazing what happens when willing adults come alongside young girls and give them some time and attention. Suddenly, these girls blossom. They know someone cares for them. They discover things about themselves.

Girls on the Run North Central Wisconsin serves these counties: Clark, Florence, Forest, Iron, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Price, Vilas and Wood. They have impacted over 900 girls since 2004.

Girls on the Run offers programs designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength and make meaningful connections with others.

Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills while encouraging healthy habits for life.

In today’s unpredictable world, the strategies learned at Girls on the Run are more important than ever.

And they get results:

97% of the girls say they learn critical life skills, including resolving conflict, helping others and making intentional decisions.

97% say they can be themselves when participating in Girls on the Run

40% increase their physical activity.

Here’s a short video that shares what Girls on the Run North Central Wisconsin does:

We all run the race of life. There are lots of different “rewards” that come along with this. For some girls, finding others to be with, feel supported and know they can be themselves IS a big reward. Let’s support girls and their aspirations through Girls on the Run North Central Wisconsin.

Blessings –

Dianne
