Today, we’re announcing our December Our Monthly Resolution organization. And it’s another GOOD one!

Kathy’s House is a hospital guest house in the Milwaukee, WI area. Established as a home away from home, Kathy’s House is a vital resource in the Milwaukee healthcare community. The home is a caring place where mutual support thrives. As the only hospital guest house in southeastern Wisconsin, it serves guest of all ages receiving care at Milwaukee area hospitals.  

With 38 bedrooms, guests are referred by medical personnel. Rooms have a private bath and things to make it more comfortable.

Named after Kathy Vogel Kuettner, she died in 39 with a rare form of non-Hodgkins’ lymphoma. While in the hospital, she worried about another cancer patient down the hall. He suffered alone because his family lived out of town and couldn’t afford to stay near him. Before she died, Kathy asked her parents to create an affordable place with the mission of keeping families together. They opened a leased building in 2001.

In 2021, Kathy’s House opened a new facility that is more than twice the size of their original building. This gives them additional space so they don’t have to turn families away.

At Kathy’s House, families stay near or with their loved one while utilizing services of a nearby hospital. Daily rates are $50/ night but no one is turned away because they are not able to contribute towards lodging costs.
