Proverbs 23:23 –Truth, wisdom, learning, and good sense—these are worth paying for, but too valuable for you to sell.

Gratitude Day 834

It’s the beginning of May and when we announce our May Our Monthly Resolution non-profit organization!

This month, we encourage folks to support Maydm, an organization that provides girls and youth of color in grades 6-12 with the skills, experiences, and connections to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM.) They are committed to changing the face of STEM by helping all students know that a career in STEM is possible. Maydm wants to let students know that they can pursue their dreams of being entrepreneurs, developers, engineers, professors and so much more.

Maydm focuses on encouraging more women to pursue science and engineering, as well as more people of color in these jobs. Their goal is for every K-12 school in the nation to teach computer classes. They offer programs which prepare students to learn the skills necessary to achieve their lofty goals. This includes internships, mentorships, connections, site visits and other connecting points. A proven program, Maydm graduates have gone on and become influential in various STEM areas.

All donations to Maydm as part of Our Monthly Resolution will be put towards their summer programming. Students pays what they can afford. Donations, such as ours, covers the remainder of the costs.

Maydm is a larger organization than we typically support. But their unique view on promotion STEM education and development is something that Stacie and I feel is terribly unique and worth supporting.

STEM is part of today and the future. We need skilled people who are ready to encourage STEM skill development while in high school Maydm provides this training. Let’s support them and their mission and vision the month of May!

For the opportunity to support the development of STEM youth, I am grateful.

Blessings –

Dianne
