Judges 17:9 – Micah asked him, “Where are you from?” “I’m a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah,” he said, “and I’m looking for a place to stay.”

Finding a place to stay while in the middle of a challenging time in life is so important. This is what our December non-profit Our Monthly Resolution organization provides to families: a home away from home for transplant families.

Restoring Hope Transplant House is located in Middleton, WI. They are a resource for families that are going through transplants: bone marrow, stem cell, organ transplant and LVAD (mechanical heart) transplant. They are connected with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital and the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, both located in Madison, WI. A short drive to the hospitals, Restoring Hope not only provide families a place to stay, but it is also a place for people going through similar situations an opportunity to connect.

The best way for us to understand what happens at Restoring Hope Transplant House is to hear from people who have used this house:

We selected Restoring Hope as the December Our Monthly Resolution organization for a couple of reasons. First, an OMR participant recommended it. And we love the mission and feel this is an organization that truly wants to help families going through a transplant situation. The house started after the Herbst family experienced staying in a similar house in Rochester, MN, while Wes Herbst went through a transplant. The family was committed to opening a similar house in the Madison area to provide support to families going through transplants in the Madison hospitals.

Funds raised through the Our Monthly Resolution drive will be used directly to help families that use the house. families and transplant patients can stay at the house for $45/night. Breakfast is provided to those staying. Our funds will help with groceries and other direct needs for families.
