Gratitude Day 653

Psalm 37:7 – Quiet your heart in his presence and wait patiently for Yahweh. And don’t think for a moment that the wicked, in their prosperity, are better off than you.

Why is it that summer always seems to go so fast?

We’re past July 4th, which is often thought of as the unofficial half-way point of summer. How can summer be half over already? I haven’t begun to enjoy all those things I hoped to do this summer.

So, here’s the deal. I hope to enjoy Every. Single. Day. Of this summer. Get outside. Go for a walk or a run, even in the rain. Drink in God’s creation all around me and declare, “It is good.”

I want to go for motorcycle rides with Hubby Rick and kayak adventures when the grandkids suggest it because, well, these are the moments that may not happen again.

I plan to love the flowers in our yard and appreciate those who someone else are tending to.

I will enjoy every fresh berry that arrives at my house, no matter how this happens.

We will use our grill and appreciate fresh food right off the grill.

I will read books and savor them and love good writing.

I want lunch dates with friends and enjoyable evenings with friends and lots of peach iced tea on our porch.

These days go by quickly, it seems. There are not enough long days of sunshine and too few days of the scent of fresh cut lawns. May I appreciate every one that comes my way.

What are YOUR hopes and dreams for the rest of these summer days?

For the choice to appreciate every summer day and not wish them away, I am grateful.

Blessings –

Dianne

Holy God – Thank you for this beautiful season of the year, filled with so many wonderful opportunities. May I create memories that are special and dear. May I celebrate every day as a gift and honor them with the way I live my life. Amen.
