Gratitude Day 631
Matthew 6:34 – Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.”
There are days when we might feel that we are simply hitting a wall.
Nothing just quite goes right.
One step forward … and three steps back.
Things out of our control.
Distractions. Procrastination. Challenges.
If you have a day when you feel that you are emotionally hitting a wall, consider this:
Maybe the walls are there for us to lean upon and get some rest.
When I feel like I am hitting a wall, too often, I try to keep going. Push forward. Force something. Maybe what I should try instead is to stop. Lean into the wall. Regroup. Rest. And then, be ready to try again.
Do you feel like you are hitting a wall with something right now? Maybe you know someone who is discouraged, feeling beat-up and ready to throw in the towel.
May you … or your friend … can just stop. Rest. Lean in. Wait a hot minute.
And then, know what the next right step is.
Too often, we plunge forward without discerning or figuring out what to do next. We feel we simply must keep going.
Going where? Down a path that will only lead us more discouraged and challenged?
Maybe, just maybe, the best thing to do is to slow down. Lean in. Rest. And wait.
It’s easier to keep going. Spinning. Trying.
It’s harder to be intentional and slow down.
The spinning method has failed me time after time.
I’m ready try to slower method.
Will you please join me?
For discovering (or remembering) that leaning on the wall is certainly OK, I am grateful.
Blessings –
Dianne
Dear God – You know exactly who is struggling right now. You are very much aware of who is feeling beat up and exhausted and awfully close to hitting a wall. Encourage us to lean into the wall. To find and remember You. To not do this alone but convinced that You want to be the wall I lean into. Amen.
If you have enjoyed this blog, please pass it along to someone else who will also enjoy it.
