Gratitude Day 580
Psalm 13:6 – I will sing my song of joy to you, the Most High, for in all of this you have strengthened my soul. My enemies say that I have no Savior, but I know that I have one in you!
For me, music is a huge part of worship. I know. As a pastor, I should probably be saying that reading scripture and the message are most important. Truth? I LOVE the music.
Growing up, hymns were what we sang in church. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I was exposed to and became more familiar with praise and worship songs. Today, I enjoy a wide range of music in worship. I think we can worship God with a variety of music. I’m not sure that God feels only one kind/style of music is “right.” I also think it’s OK if we prefer a certain style of music. Let’s also appreciate that someone else might prefer a different kind of music in church. And this is OK.
On this Sabbath day, I encourage you to listen to a couple of your favorite hymns/songs today. And then answer these questions:
- Why do you like these songs?
- How do these songs speak to you?
- What words in these songs are important to you?
I’m sharing a couple of my favorite songs today. Enjoy! And I pray you enjoy them!
10,000 Reasons
I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
For music that speaks to my soul and helps me worship You, I am grateful.
Blessings –

Holy God – Thank you for the gift of music and how it speaks to me. May the music I hear this day draw we closer to You. Amen.
If you have enjoyed this blog, please pass it along to someone else who will also enjoy it.
