Psalm 119:143 – Stress and strain have caught up with me, but your commandments are my joy!
Recently, I ran across this quote. I think it’s worth sharing:
What is giving you stress these days?
Lack of time?
Motivation?
Commitment?
Financial situations?
Marriage?
A particular relationship?
Work?
Lack of work?
Health concerns?
Vehicle issues?
Addiction problems?
Grief?
I’m sure that I am forgetting a whole bunch of potential stressors in our lives.
Stress is real. And people handle it various ways. I tend to turn to food and other things that allow me to escape the stress for just even a few minutes. I’m not sure these momentary poor choices are very helpful, but they make me feel better in the minute!
How do you deal with stress?
Is it a healthy way or not so much?
Of late, rather than letting stress overwhelm me, I return to what I appreciate in my life. What I’m grateful for. Redirecting focus is helpful … and far more productive.
How might you set aside stress and focus on being grateful instead today?
For less stress, I am grateful.
Lord God – it’s so easy to let stress overwhelm us at time. Rather than letting this voice be the loudest in our lives, I pray we can redirect the stress into gratefulness today and tomorrow. Thank you for helping us deal with our daily stress. Amen.
Blessings –
Dianne
