Psalm 55:1: God, listen to my prayer; don’t avoid my request!

What keeps you from prayer? While at times it is necessary to skip prayer, it becomes too easy to keep putting prayer off as the day goes on. We get upset when God doesn’t answer our prayers immediately. Yet, why do we withhold prayer from God? How can you make prayer a consistent part of your day? What are some creative ways to find space for God?

Lord, please help me open my mouth in prayer and encourage me to ask honestly what is on my heart. May my ears be attuned to hear your answers. May my heart respond lovingly and faithfully. May our hands serve you in this world.  Amen.
