Passport to Prayer – Lent 2016

Wednesday – Mar. 9, 2016

Matthew 26:36, 39: Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. It not as I will, but as you will.”

Soon, Jesus will face the most difficult thing in his life. He’s already hinted to his disciples that something big will happen. To prepare himself, Jesus goes to a garden to pray. Using his example, say a prayer dealing with whatever is heavy on your heart this day.

We can’t imagine the anxiety you felt in the garden. Thank you for this wonderful example for how we ought to pray. May your words be our words as we pray. Amen.

Blessings –

Dianne
