Passport to Prayer – Lent 2016

Monday – Feb. 29, 2016

2 Samuel 22:1-3a: David sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation.”

King David was more than a king. He was a shepherd, a musician, a singer and a composer of poems. Many of the Psalms are attributed to David. Read Psalm, 18, which is a version of the poem from 2 Samuel listed above. Have you ever written poetry, prose and stories? If so, do these writings reflect your faith in God? Think of a meaningful poem to you. If possible, use this as a prayer today.

What may or may not start out as a prayer to you often ends up as a prayer. In our rawest of moments, we are able to express our deepest feelings. May our prayers reflect these same range of emotions. Amen.

Blessings –

Dianne
