Passport to Prayer – Lent 2016
Monday – Feb. 15, 2016
Exodus 4:13: But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”
God asks Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and back to the Promised Land. Moses has every excuse under the sun. Finally, he says, “Just send someone else.” Read the entire story in Exodus 3:9-4:17.
Have you ever argued with God? Why? What, like Moses, limits you from doing great things? What limits keep you from sharing your strengths for God’s kingdom? How can you shift your focus?
Lord, help me be more honest with you. Help me love you even when I’m unhappy with my life. Wrap your loving arms around me and protect me. Expand my faith so I can see your glory, even when things aren’t going well. Use me as an extension of your love to bless others in their suffering. Be patient with me when I allow frustrations and anger to hinder my relationship with you when things don’t go as I would like. Amen.
Spend some time praying specifically for the church(es) you attend and your pastor serves. Ask God to direct the mission and vision of these faith communities. Name each staff person by name and pray for God’s Holy Spirit to direct them.
Blessings –
Dianne
