Luke 12:15 – Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

Gratitude Day 942

It’s been a normal week. Regular things on normal days. Yes, some highlights:

  • Hubby Rick planting garden with our youngest grandchild.
  • Time with family in Milwaukee.
  • Running errands with Hubby Rick.
  • Dinner on the patio last night because the weather was just right.
  • Some work, some connecting, some reading, some ordinary things.

Of late, I have been trying to live in the moment. For it is these little moments that really are our life. If we don’t appreciate and embrace these little moments, well, then, we aren’t really connecting what’s important to us to our every day, normal lives.

Big events are fun. Exciting. Things to look forward to. Landmarks by which we measure life.

But the rest of the days? Just. As. Important. For it’s what we do these days that truly defines our lives. It’s the normal, everyday choices that demonstrate what is at the core of our being. And if those every day normal things are our core, this is when there’s a problem. A disconnect. When we’re not connecting what’s really important to us.

So, this weekend, savor the cup of coffee with a friend.

Watch the clouds move through the sky.

Sit and watch nature for a few minutes.

Turn off all technology and listen.

Do that one thing that really makes you happy.

And smile.

All. Weekend. Long.

Have a beautiful and a blessed week.

For normal, everyday life, I am thankful.

Blessings –

Dianne

Loving God – may my ordinary days be some of my best days. For these are the days that should define who I am, Whose I am and what’s most important to me. Help me simply embrace them. Amen.
