Job 11:14-18 – Put away the sin that you still hold on to. Don’t keep evil in your tent. If you will do that, you could look to God without shame. You can stand strong and not be afraid. Then you can forget your troubles, like water that has already passed by. Your life will be brighter than the sunshine at noon. Life’s darkest hours will shine like the morning sun. You will feel safe because there is hope. God will protect you and give you rest.

Gratitude Day 922

Happiest of New Years, my dear friends.

I know. Sometimes, a New Year is exciting. It’s a time to start fresh! Leave behind challenges from the previous year. New Opportunities await!

But it’s also a time that feels a bit shallow? There’s disappointment for unfinished business or things. Missed opportunities. Unsuredness.

Here’s my suggestion. Look carefully at the verse from above. And do what it says. As we begin a New Year, focus less on resolutions. (Not my favorite thing.) And instead think about this:

Put away the sin that you still hold on to.
Let go of those sins from last year. Poor choices. Wrong moves. Bad choice of words. Missed opportunities. LET. THEM. GO.

Don’t keep evil in your tent.
Chase it away. Seriously. You just don’t need negative energy in your life. What is pulling you down? Is it time to let it go? Release yourself of this. Just LET. IT. GO.

If you will do that, you could look to God without shame. You can stand strong and not be afraid.
Begin today with hope and optimism that God will and can do some awesome things through you in the days ahead. Yes, be sad about certain things. But you choose whether or not they define your life. You are strong enough to LET. THEM GO.

Then you can forget your troubles, like water that has already passed by.
God has already forgotten all those troubles and bad thoughts and choices that could have been different. Now, let yourself LET. THEM. GO.

Your life will be brighter than the sunshine at noon. Life’s darkest hours will shine like the morning sun.
The sun came up this morning, even if you did not see it. In the darkness, the sun is still there. You just can’t see it. So it is with life. Let the sun shine through you even if it isn’t a great day. It’s still an opportunity to be a GOOD DAY.

You will feel safe because there is hope. God will protect you and give you rest.
Begin the year with hope. Confident God is with you. Will protect you. Wants you to rest in God’s loving arms.

Now, my friends, go back and read the whole scripture. As a prayer. As a blessing. As a way to begin this year. God wants you to make it a good one. Do it together with God!

Have a blessed New Year Day and Year.
Blessings –
Dianne
