Passport to Prayer – Lent 2016

Tuesday – Mar. 1, 2016

Psalm 84:1-2: How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul years, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

The psalms were the prayer book and song book for the Israelites. They express all parts of the spiritual journey: praise of God, prayers of anger, fear and isolation, gratitude and even anguish. Look at 5 different psalms and hear the different emotions. Use one that speaks to you today as your prayer.

Lord God, when my heart fills with joy, receive my praise. When I’m overcome with sadness and my heart breaks, be near me. Deliver me when I’m afraid. Restore me when I fall. Remind me of your never-ending steadfast love. Amen.

Blessings –

Dianne
